Trisnasari and Assuit and Tie Belly Dance Club are proud to be hosting Rachel Brice in Melbourne, for workshops and show, 31 August to 2 September, 2018. Watch this space for updates coming soon.
Trisnasari has danced all her life and in 2001 founded Melbourne’s Underbelly Dance Studio. She worked with Federation Square to offer free belly dance classes as part of their Health and Well Being program. Today she spends less time on stage performing and more time assisting others with event management and all aspects of dance business management. As well as producing award winning shows, Trisnasari has performed and delivered workshops throughout Australia and abroad. She brings a wealth of knowledge from her background in management consulting (Deloitte), holds a Certificate IV in Dance Teaching and Management, and is currently completing her Psychology qualification and research into the psychology of music and mental health in the entertainment industry. In the future Trisnasari aims to consult as a Performance Psychologist for athletes, visual and performing artists, assisting with overcoming anxiety and achieving peak performance. ‘Thank you so much for supporting the Karen, Bhutanese and Nepali dance groups in creating such a beautiful performance piece for the Premiers Gala Dinner. Your dance experience, choreography skills and cultural sensitivity were crucial to the success of this project. It gave us great piece of mind knowing that you were there for these three community groups who are passionate about sharing their unique cultural traditions. As always, thank you for going above and beyond!’
‘Trisna brings the exotic to Fed Square each fortnight with free Belly Dancing classes. Her vibrant personality and gentle encouragement has participants ‘shimmy and shake’ with gentle aerobic dance routines which are inclusive of all ages – and have the added advantage of being perfect for toning and strengthening core muscles!’
‘Trisna has hosted me in Melbourne on three occasions from 2004 in her role as Creative Director of Underbelly Dance Studio, to 2015 as part of her event business ‘Assuit and Tie Bellydance Club’. She has always produced excellent events and has a consultative approach and attention to detail.’
‘Underbelly was a special institution in the 2000s that truly paved the way for many other belly dance schools, largely due to Trisna’s ability to do things well and do them efficiently. She brought in online shopping for the business before it had really taken off on today’s grand scale. She introduced systems and processes for the school that enabled teacher and student numbers to steadily grow. She ran events that consistently sold out, month after month, year after year. And she is still running the most well organised, well programmed and well attended belly dance events in Melbourne, 15 years on.’
‘Trisna Fraser has organised many events at which I have led a band of musicians. They have been extremely professional and well-organised. Some involved huge numbers of performers with complex lighting, filming and sound equipment. I have no hesitation in recommending her as a professional and very competent and experienced event organiser.’
“Trisna led two one hour belly dancing workshops for thirty students of mixed ages at our schools during our recent Arts Week program. The class was well paced keeping all participants engaged continuously. Trisna has a natural ability in teaching her art. She provided scarves and props to add authenticity to the class.
After only one hour students left this workshop well practised in a number of belly dancing moves. I would definitely recommend her as a teacher of this ancient art.”
