FAQs

Will Rachel be performing?

Yes. Rachel will make two appearances at an exclusive one night only show on Saturday 1 September. More details to come.

How can I get to the workshop venue?

If I am visiting Melbourne what accommodation options are there?

What do I need to bring to the workshops?

For an optimal dance experience, we recommend that you wear loose comfortable clothing to the workshops, and bring a bottle of water (for staying hydrated) and a small hand towel (because dance can be a sweaty business!). If you have any special dietary requirements, please bring your own lunch or snacks, as there may not be any suitable cafes open nearby on the day.

What facilities are available at the studio?

Is there anything I need to do in advance to prepare for the workshops?

For recommendations review the workshop descriptions.

If you are unfamiliar with Rachel’s style of dancing, visit www.facebook.com/officialrachelbrice or www.youtube.com/user/OfficialRachelBrice.

Is there an early bird discount?

There is no early bird discount. Workshops are reasonably priced and likely to sell out early.

How can I pay for workshops?

All bookings will be via TryBooking which accepts Visa, Mastercard and Amex debit or credit cards.

Cash/cheque/bank transfer/Paypal are not accepted. If you are unable to pay by credit card, please arrange for a friend to book the workshop on your behalf.

Unfortunately the administration team has insufficient resources to track payments and bookings made via multiple methods and a streamlined booking/payment process is necessary.

Can I pay a deposit to secure my place in a workshop and pay the balance later?

There are no part payments, and bookings must be paid in full. Workshops are reasonably priced. If you wish to attend the whole weekend and are unable to pay the full amount, please book in for a two day package or a single workshop and book in for additional workshops at a later date if they are not already sold out.

If I can’t register for workshops myself, can someone else do it on my behalf?

Yes. Someone else can book for you and “Contact event organiser” via Trybooking to clarify who the booking is for.

How many people will be in the workshop?

Dependent on interest, workshop numbers will be similar to Rachel Brice’s 2015 visit – see photo below.

11933411_395536363990451_8076518165344397765_n Rachel will teach from a platform with a wireless microphone. She is experienced in ensuring attendees are given opportunity to move around the room and circulate lines. Workshop entry is general admission – there are no sections (eg. closer to the front). There is ample room in the studio.

Workshops are reasonably priced for the quality of Rachel’s teaching. Her visits to Australia are rare and she is in high demand. Conducting larger workshops ensures fewer people miss out on the opportunity to experience her teaching.

Will there be a waitlist for workshops?

Yes. Once workshops are sold out you can add your name to a waitlist.

Am I at the right level of ability to do the workshop(s)?

Ultimately, you have to decide that yourself. Be guided by the level recommendation italics in the following workshops descriptions.

While you are doing the workshop, know your limits, and adjust accordingly. All attendees participate at their own risk.

Will refunds be offered for the workshops?

No refunds will be offered unless there is someone on the waitlist that can take your place. This option will only be possible up until Monday 27 August, after which there will be no refunds available. Workshop places are transferable in the case there is no one on the waitlist.

In the unlikely event workshops are canceled due to unforeseen circumstances, a full refund will be issued to all patrons, however the organiser is not responsible for travel or accommodation expenses.

Is photography or filming allowed during workshops and show?

To nurture a healthy and professional learning environment, we request no photos during the workshop.

Participants may video themselves performing choreography at the end of each class. Recording Rachel or other students is not permitted, no exceptions.  Video must be for personal use only and not uploaded to the internet.

No photography or filming is permitted during the show. The show will be professionally videoed and photographed and photos/footage released onto the internet for free public viewing at the discretion of the organiser and Rachel Brice.

Will there be time to ask Rachel questions between/after the workshops, or have photos taken?

Before each workshop a professional group photo will be taken. This will be distributed to all participants. Time for questions will be built into the workshop time. Rachel will not be available for questions or photos after class.
